Also, be prudent when charging the enemy. If you keep these things in mind, you'll be fine in most battles. Being able to swap targets quickly can help lower the enemy's moral, making the battle easier to win for you. Play vanilla and when you decide you want more after 120+ hours of play time, come find me and I will get you set up with more options like more factions, factions with early and late campaign start times, and more units. Having 2-4 units of artillery also ties into this. Darthmod is a cheat mod for children who cannot successfully play on the easiest setting of the actual game. I use them to be able to react to the battle quickly, since things can go down hill really quickly when you have to go back and select each unit individually. The further their line of vision is, the further away you can engage the enemy. Zoom in all the way and look for the highground, or the place which offers your guns the best vantage point of the battlefield. Before deploying your units, look at the battlefield. Hotkey them together to be able to use them most efficiently. Light cavalry is a godsend on the battlefield, and a mass charge can break an enemy army in a heartbeat. The line will keep your enemy busy when they come in too close, and you can always pull back your (later) artillery. The more experience, the better in my opinnion, although fresh units will due as well. In order to use artillery effectively, you need 4 things I use artillry in every battle under my little rule of thumb, "Don't leave home without at least 2 guns". The only time I have seen round shot be effective is in Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai. Does anyone have any tips for using artillery (mods, strategies, or anything else) with round shot effectively? I always try to aim at clustered enemies, especially cavalry (round shot seems to kill more cavalrymen in my experience I guess because they do not form such wide and thing formations) at long range, and at whatever happens to be closest or charging if the enemy closes in on my cannon positions. I recently got Napoleon TW, and the problem seems to be even worse there, even with Darthmod installed (though I may need to tweak some settings as even canister shot does not seem to work at all). The one thing that still bothers me about this game, though, is how useless the artillery seems to be in many situations: it feels like the only time my artillery is actually effective at killing or demoralizing enemies is at close range with canister shot. Empire (with Darthmod) is definitely my favorite Total War, mostly for this reason (as well as for the sea battles, even though I am awful at commanding them). Install to there and when done play the game and Enjoy!!!.I really like artillery in games, especially the time period of this game. Put that into the file with part 1 so part 1 and part 2 will be in the same folder then run the luancher and install to:Ĭ:/Program Files/Steam/Steam Apps/common/Empire Total WarĬ:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steam Apps/common/Empire Total War I selected the area that part 2 is in and the installer cannot detect the part 2. I launched the installer (part 1) and everything was fine until it told me to insert part 2. Then open up the file you just extracted and there should be 1 file in there called: I downloaded part 1, part 2 and the most recent patch. Put into the file you just made and with part 2 you want to extract all the file to do that I dont have winrar I use 7 zip so right click onto part 2 folder and slide across to 7 zip and press extract all and loacation just press ok and it will make a folder in the same place you downloaded it to. At the start of the 18th century, however, the Swedish Empire is in. The Swedish Empire is an aggressive Empire, hungry for conquests and to assert its rightful place amongst the great powers of the world. Now place the darth vader icon wich is the launcher called: DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.exe The 30 Years War saw Sweden rise from a regional power to a nation that matters, most of all thanks to the genius of Gustavus II Adolphus. Part 1 should be the luancher and part 2 should be a folder or a file so make a new folder call it whatever you want I called mine Darthmod Empire Total War and just placed it in documents. Website:(You can also download part 1 and 2 from here). When you click the link you would want to download: *Some Unit Balance costs/stats changes (corrected some old vanilla clone units like the Cuirassiers that were exactly the same for French and for all other nations). The melees should now be much more brutal and good looking. * The AI should attack/defend/make musket lines more effectively. Generally the region trades should be much less. * Dagestan overprotectorship bug should now be toned down significantly or completely fixed. Muskets are now more lethal at close range. * Different mass settings for even more realistic melees. What it includes: (I put down some of the things included there are way more) Hope this Helps!!!.Īs the game it should have been. I have been looking in a couple of discussions realated to the darthmod so this is the installation.
